5 Unconventional Multi-Functional EDC Tools

by , July 4, 2018
Hello Carryologists, I’m Yong-Soo, fellow EDC geek and Founder of Urban EDC Supply. My team and I are always on the hunt for unique, hard-to-find EDC items. We also collaborate with today’s top designers and makers to bring our community the best of the best EDC out there. I’ll be sharing some of my discoveries with you in this new column – curated specifically for the Carryology community. I hope you enjoy!

The items in this list represent multi-tools that flex a little from classic formats. They’re unique in their own unconventional ways – and pack a lot of function into a small package!

The Kopis Designs STK (Sliding Tool & Knife) is modern ingenuity at its finest. Built to be compact, versatile, and durable, it leverages on rapid prototyping and on-ground user feedback throughout the entire design process. The result is an amazingly innovative yet highly intuitive pocket tool that adds tremendous value to your everyday carry.

Cha-O-Ha EDC Card

Small, discreet, incredibly strong and highly functional, the Cha-O-Ha EDC Card is the perfect everyday tool that you can safely bring with you no matter where you are in the world. Machined from CPM S35VN blade steel, the EDC Card is much harder than titanium and provides the perfect balance of strength, heft, durability and edge retention to a tool this size.

Mininch Xcissor Pen

Compact, multifunctional, beautifully designed and machined – the Mininch Xcissor Pen is an elegant solution to an everyday conundrum. It’s perfect for use at home, in the office, workshop, traveling or in the outdoors. So get yours now and never be caught without a pen (or a pair of scissors) ever again.

Anso Carabiner V4 – Titanium

When you take a moment to view and evaluate the world-famous knife designer Jens Anso’s work, which he approaches like a scientist tinkering with his experiments, the Anso Carabiner V4 makes complete sense. Instead of weighing your pocket down with yet another tool, the aim here is to incorporate the bottle opener into your carabiner. The size is reduced to the absolute minimum while still maintaining maximum strength and utility.

Rexford Utility Tool (RUT) V3

Designed and made by legendary knife maker Todd Rexford in his workshop in Colorado, this lightweight, yet incredibly strong multi-tool uses a standard razor blade for ease of replacement. It also incorporates a hex tool that doubles as a lanyard loop, a flat-head screwdriver and pry bar, complete with a bottle opener.
