3 Awesome and Unique Urban EDC Supply Collaborations
Hello Carryologists! Yong-Soo here, and I’m back with another column of EDC goodness. From my own personal experience, the EDC community is always on the lookout for new, unique goods that are both artistic and functional to add to their pockets. Now more than ever, plain practicality is not enough; EDC is about innovative designs with a combination of unique and interesting patterns, materials, and/or finishes. So this week, I’d like to highlight 3 awesome collaborations that we’ve done that cover just that.
Yitsan and his Tain flashlights are well-known within the flashlight community. His popular Ottavino flashlight with exquisite knurling was a total hit and when he approached us about the Aurora collaboration, we couldn’t resist. The intricate and unique patterns on the Tain Aurora are hard to beat. Named after the natural phenomenon that is the northern lights, the Aurora is a high-performance flashlight that features an intricately flowing motif of fine knurling that runs uninterrupted throughout the entirety of its polished titanium body. The Aurora is as much a sight to behold as it is to deploy. In every sense, the Tain Aurora is a true piece of functional art and an engineering feat that you can carry around in your pocket.
We teamed up with our good friends at The James Brand on this exclusive collaboration on their popular Elko keychain knife which doubles as a pry tool, bottle opener, and flat head screwdriver. While the Elko is already available in Titanium and Aluminum handles, the use of lightweight OD green micarta scales offers unmatched durability and tactility, which is especially important on a small keychain knife like this one. Sleek, simple, and functional, this modern and minimal masterpiece is the ideal addition to your keychain carry.
Rain.Z is an up-and-coming knife maker based in China. With this collaboration, we took his plain Titanium Screwdriver to another level with the Dark Titanium model. The dark coating on the Titanium adds a layer of extra protection while significantly upping the style quotient. The bright anodization also adds character and really makes it pop. Sometimes it’s the finish that makes all the difference.
