Noteworthy New Release: GOT BAG
The world’s oceans are filled with thousands of tons of plastic. And more is dumped into the oceans each year. A problem on multiple levels that blocks up waterways and harms marine life including seabirds and fish that consume the plastic. And by association, that plastic can end up in our food too. So Benny Mandos and Roman Ruster decided to do something about this. Passionate about surfing, sailing and protecting our oceans, they created a product that helps reduce the amount of ocean pollution while serving as a practical item for everyday or travel carry.
Meet the GOT BAG, a functional and quality backpack made from recycled ocean plastic.
From pollution to practical carry
When you’ve got a big dream, working with others can help you reach it. And that’s what the founders of GOT BAG did, partnering with SEAQUAL to benefit from a network of fishermen extracting plastic from the oceans. The fishermen collect the plastic in their nets and it is subsequently transformed into high-quality yarn which is used to produce the textiles in the GOT BAG. Each backpack represents 3.5 kg of plastic removed from our oceans. In addition to 100% recycled marine plastic in the fabrics, the backpack also has an eco-friendly bio-PU coating made from biodegradable ingredients. The GOT BAG features quality YKK zippers and a reinforced, padded underbody for long-lasting durability. Ideal for keeping it out of a landfill and on your back for years of trusty use. And it’s backed by a two-year warranty for added peace of mind.
Built for land, water and air
In order to be truly versatile, a bag needs to handle a variety of different environments, carry needs and weather conditions. And the GOT BAG was designed with all of these elements in mind. Along with its bio-PU coating, the 100% waterproof backpack features sealed seams and a roll-top closure. So you don’t need to worry about unexpected downpours, snow or water-based activities affecting your gear.
The roll-top design and compression straps also allow the 23L bag to adapt to smaller or larger loads as required. Handy if you want to cinch it down for daily essentials or pack a little extra and take to the skies or hit the road for a short trip. Carry comfort has been thought of too, with a padded and ventilated back panel and ergonomic straps.
An all-rounder, carefully considered
The GOT BAG offers a tough, waterproof and sleek build that helps it blend into diverse settings. But its simple, useful organization also enhances its functionality. The backpack has a removable padded laptop bag to protect your tech on the move. And if you want minimalist carry options, you can use the laptop bag and backpack independently. Inside are two pockets for smaller items, with a quick-access pocket situated externally on the front of the pack. All in a flexible design that moves from the beach to the city streets and work to play.
It can be hard finding bags that function well for travel or everyday use while being mindful of responsible production. But the GOT BAG does a solid job of bringing multiple elements together in a whole that’s greater than the sum of its parts. A sleek backpack that helps reduce ocean pollution while providing practical utility and adaptable style. A step in the right direction for sustainable carry, with real user value too.
