A Modular Travel Pack to Take On Any Adventure
Crowdfunding is fast becoming the world’s go-to platform for new releases. But do you ever find it hard to cut through the noise and pin down the ones worth your hard-earned? Well, that’s where this sponsored series comes in. We’re vetting carry Kickstarters for you, digging up the facts, and shedding light on the ones we think are worth a closer look.
This week’s selection: Boundary Supply and their Arris Adventure Pack.
What to do when do-it-all packs don’t exist
Let’s get frank. You’re probably never going to find one bag that accommodates all of your carry needs. So Boundary Supply didn’t design the Arris Backpack by itself. Instead, they designed it as the base of a modular system. A travel backpack that can stand alone but also has help from a supporting cast of modular accessories. And the Arris travel system looks set to conquer a multitude of weekend getaway, adventure, and photography carry needs.
A solid foundation
Any good system starts with a solid foundation. And the Arris pack has been designed to offer the durability, flexibility and comfort you’d expect from a versatile travel backpack.
The 35L pack features a high tenacity 400D nylon exterior with a water-resistant coating. It’s seam taped for added protection from the elements, with weatherproof YKK zippers rounding out the durable, ready-for-adventure build.
No jumbles, just intuitive access
Easy access to gear is important in a travel pack. And Boundary have taken this into consideration with a combination of quick-access exterior pockets, a clamshell opening for the main compartment, as well as side zipper access to the main compartment.
Look inside the pack’s interior and you’ll find a range of organization options including a removable dry bag that’s handy for wet or dirty items. Zippered pockets, a quick-rip zippered divider, and padded storage for a 17″ laptop keep items tidy and quickly accessible throughout your trip.
Getting clever with carrying
Travel backpacks need to be comfortable, and the Arris is equipped with a range of features to help make carrying your gear as comfy as possible. The pack features an easily adjustable harness to suit different users, with a molded composite back panel for structure. The ventilated, padded back panel is complemented by a removable waist belt, magnetic sternum strap, and load lifters for dialed-in load stability and support.
Grab handles situated around the pack make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces or transport over short distances. And as an added bonus the side handle doubles as a luggage passthrough for transporting the carry-on pack with wheeled luggage.
Getting the team on board
The Arris pack is part of a modular system, which allows you the freedom to conquer a multitude of carry needs.
Boundary’s 360 Lash System lets you secure modular components to the exterior of the pack, increasing your carrying capacity for larger loads. Additionally, these components can be used separately, allowing you to leave the pack behind and travel more freely with just what you need for the day.
The 15L Stasis Sling is designed with mobility and access in mind, providing ample space for a 13″ laptop or tablet, clothing and other small items you might need during your excursions. The Stasis can be secured to the front of the Arris Pack or carried separately.
The Rift Pack is a useful go-to option for more compact carry, providing quick access to small loads while keeping carry bulk down. It can be used cross-body or around the waist as a standalone piece, or alternatively secured to the top of the Arris Pack.
Modular assistance is also on hand for the interior of the pack. The Fieldspace 2.0 is a versatile storage option for a 13″ laptop, documents and small work tools. It can be docked magnetically inside the Arris Pack or carried by itself as a pared-back work piece.
The Tek Case is a useful organizer case for all your smaller work and EDC essentials, with plenty of pockets and webbing loops on hand to neatly store your gear.
And for organizing your clothing, hemp packing cubes come to the rescue, making it easy to access specific items without undoing your entire packing.
A sustainable system for smoother travels
The Arris travel system is sustainably manufactured using bluesign® system partners. Sustainably produced technical materials not only provide enhanced performance and decreased weight, but also reduce the environmental impact of production.
Through modularity, easy access and useful organization, Boundary aims to make your travels smoother and ultimately more enjoyable. The ability to customize the Arris system makes it hassle-free to adapt on the go, staying agile with smaller loads and comfortably carrying larger ones wherever the next adventure leads. If you’re keen to add the Arris system to your travel setup, you can do so through Boundary’s Kickstarter campaign which runs until 10 April 2020.
Note: this is a sponsored series, but only the best candidates are given this feature placement.
Above are the facts, but there’s always a little risk when backing a crowdfunder, so keep that in mind before you decide to back/purchase.
