Kickstarter Highlight: Able Carry Daily Everyday Backpack
Crowdfunding is fast becoming the world’s go-to platform for new releases. But do you ever find it hard to cut through the noise and pin down the ones worth your hard-earned? Well, that’s where this sponsored series comes in. We’re vetting carry Kickstarters for you, digging up the facts, and shedding light on the ones we think are worth a closer look.
This week’s selection: Able Carry and their Daily Backpack.
Enabling efficiency in your everyday carry
Is your bag fit for purpose? A simple enough question on the surface. But it succinctly hones in on the essence of a bag. Has it been designed with a clear purpose in mind? And how well does it fulfil that purpose?
A lot of bags fall short of the mark, trying to do too much and ultimately not excelling at anything. Able Carry didn’t want to add to that pile. So instead they focused in and set their sights on creating a top-notch everyday bag. Not an all-in-one travel, outdoor adventure and EDC bag. Just an everyday bag.
But not just any everyday bag. Because if you’re going to do one thing, you do it right. And they called it the Daily Backpack.
Designed for whatever the day brings
The fact that the Daily isn’t a do-it-all bag doesn’t mean it’s not versatile. This 20L backpack has been carefully designed to handle a variety of day-to-day needs, from the commute to laid-back strolls in the park or grabbing a bite to eat with your EDC in tow. And it does this by focusing on simplicity, reliability, comfort, and durability.
The pack has been stripped back to the essentials, offering the features you need without unnecessary bells and whistles. The low-key silhouette looks good in work environments and casually stylish on your days off.
The main compartment opens wide to allow convenient and quick access to your gear. You’ll also find just enough interior pockets to keep your items tidy without creating clutter or forgetting where you put things.
There’s even a hidden pocket, perfect for storing extra cash or other small valuables you want to keep out of sight.
How about quick-access items? The Daily has your back with a quick-access top pocket and front pocket, ideal for the likes of a water bottle, phone, wallet, outer layer or other frequently used items. Plus side webbing lets you easily secure bulky items such as U-locks externally.
And for added peace of mind, the side anchor points allow you to secure a zipper padlock for security on the go.
Take a load off with customized comfort
The Daily features a custom-built A-frame suspension, designed to provide improved comfort with minimized sagging and bouncing on the go.
Combine this with wide shoulder straps, a stowable sternum strap, and a vented and padded back panel and the Daily’s got carry comfort in the bag.
Durability, your way
Durability in a bag is a good thing. But different users have different priorities, and the same fabric won’t meet them all. So the backpack comes in two versions: the Daily Casual and the Daily Active, both backed by a lifetime guarantee.
The Daily Casual is crafted with coated 1000D Cordura Nylon, and is a great choice if you want sufficient water resistance to handle light showers with ease, superior abrasion resistance, and a choice of colorways. The Daily Casual also includes coated and color-matched YKK Racquet Coil zippers.
The Daily Active is crafted with X-Pac VX21 laminated ripstop, which offers better weather resistance over the Cordura fabric, and is slightly stiffer and lighter. Complementing the fabric, the Daily Active features weatherproof YKK Racquet Coil zippers.
Dialed in for the daily haul
Robust in build, low-key in style, and comfortable enough to carry all day, the Daily Backpack excels as an everyday bag that can keep pace with changing needs and environments. Sling its simple efficiency into your EDC setup through Able Carry’s Kickstarter campaign, which runs until 22 February 2018.
Note: this is a sponsored series, but only the best candidates are given this feature placement.
Above are the facts, but there’s always a little risk when backing a crowdfunder, so keep that in mind before you decide to back/purchase.
