Love this bag … in a way, and then not so much. Bought it a few months ago to replace a Tom Bihn Western Flyer that was made of Dyneema (aka Halcyon). That stuff is lightweight but just can’t take a beating, no fault of Tom Bihn. I wanted something thick for everyday use and in waxed canvas. While I still love the MW bag for a general holdall for everyday carry around town, it really doesn’t work as well as I’d like as an all-rounder like the Western Flyer and doesn’t hold any more stuff. The laptop compartment is great for my 15 inch. The inside pockets are very nice. The construction is top quality (though more rudimentary than the rounded lines that Tom Bihn is able to sew). But the strap isn’t good. Keeps slipping as it says in this review. For any extended excursions, like trudging through an airport, it’s a no-go and bulky to boot. Also, I miss the grippy, slightly stretchy stuff on the Tom Bihn Absolute Strap. Second, I really miss all the O-rings sewn throughout a Tom Bihn. Great for attaching stuff. This bag has no attachment rings except the two metal rings intended for attaching the optional backpack straps. I ran metal rings through these and then string various things like keys to the metal rings. I don’t use this on a bike. Seems like it would be great for that use on a front rack. Great for around town with no big walking excursions. But not an all-around EDC for the traveler.
