Timbuk2 goes touring

If you’re eyeing Timbuk2’s Especial cycling messenger as a potential add to your carry collection, you’ll probably appreciate some insights on the bag from a cyclist. It’s not a full-out review so don’t expect a focus on any negatives the bag may have but some key features are highlighted which might help in deciding whether the bag is for you. Alternatively you can just check out the images which have a laidback ‘sightseeing in New York’ vibe about them. 😉

Depending where you are in the world spring may be just round the corner. On the other hand it could be behind you and winter is looming ahead. If you’re in the latter category and not a fan of cooler weather then take comfort in knowing that you can still get your hands on spring and summer carry collections, a fact which is bound to brighten up your day. One such offering is the upcoming spring/summer 2013 collection from The Property Of, highlights of which you can preview here.
Rugged hardcore meets sleek chic
Week In Review ~ 16 FebruaryArc’teryx is rocking some minimalist style with a new travel carry offering from their LEAF (Law Enforcement and Armed Forces) line. The carry-on Covert Case has a 40L capacity (other sizes are available too suitable for check-in and international carry-on) and can be carried as a backpack or shoulder bag. Grab handles on four sides add flexible portability. The bag is built to withstand rough use and is fully padded. In terms of organization there’s external and internal document pockets and a security pocket, handy for travel documents and small/thin EDC items.
Arc’teryx on a mission

Arc’teryx have been busy. The Khard backpack is another new bag from their LEAF line and is available in 30L and 45L sizes. Pictures say a thousand words but we thought the video above was even better for highlighting the design ideas and technology that went into creating this lightweight but tough pack.

If you’re a fan of Mission Workshop’s Rummy messenger (or a tempted first-time buyer) then either stop reading now or prepare to make an addition to your collection with a waxed canvas version. In addition to the 10 oz waxed canvas, the messenger incorporates Mission Workshop’s Arkiv closure system and VX liner. Of course, additions don’t come for free and there’s a $100 difference between the original and waxed canvas versions.
