66°North x Chris Burkard Ljó́súfjöll Hiking Capsule Collection
Chris Burkard’s bond with Iceland runs deep. The photographer and adventurer has spent years exploring its raw, unforgiving landscapes—often with 66°North gear in tow, tested against the island’s wind, rain, and rugged terrain.
Now, that partnership takes a new step with the Ljó́súfjöll Hiking Capsule Collection, designed alongside 66°North’s technical team. The collection is built for movement, shaped by the elements, and made to perform in the wild.
For Burkard, it’s more than gear it’s a reflection of the landscapes that have inspired him for years. A perfect blend of function and simplicity, designed to go wherever adventure leads.

Inspired By Nature, Designed For Performance
The eight-piece men’s and women’s collection includes multifunctional jackets, pants, and shorts. All lean into the theme of blurred seasons, offering dependable layers for use in the mountains and changing conditions.
The capsule collection celebrates Chris’s love for Iceland, its nature, and its people who helped shape the collection. The capsule pieces are designed to enable light and fast movement in the mountains, valleys, and rivers of Iceland. Built with high-quality technical performance that can handle harsh Icelandic conditions, the capsule pieces can thrive almost anywhere adventure leads.

Key Pieces
The collection is made to perform and explore in the outdoors, as Chris would. With freedom of movement and adventure-ready features at the heart of the designs. Some of the collection highlights include the Ljó́súfjöll Shell Jacket, Ljó́súfjöll Insulated Jacket, and Ljó́súfjöll Hoodie. Designed with unrestricted movement in mind, the materials match the ethos. The jacket is made with a durable 40d 100% recycled nylon ripstop shell and a soft C-knit backer provides comfort. The ever reliable YKK AquaGuard zippers are easy to use in any weather, and side zippers to shed heat. Let’s not forget the stowable hood for that final piece of the protection puzzle.

The insulated jacket is a lightweight, practical piece for outdoor adventuring. Layering systems are key to performance in a landscape like Icelands. Featuring two-way front zippers (an absolute must on any adventure jacket), a variety of pockets, and a bomber collar for protection against the wind and sun. The fabric is crafted from 48% recycled nylon and is bluesign approved, PFC-free, and offers UV+50 protection.

The hoodie is made for high-output activities such as hiking, running, and mountain biking. It’s crafted with a tough double-knit fabric blending 89% recycled polyester and 11% spandex. Highly abrasion resistant, the hoodie also provides hand thumbholes, a chest pocket, and a +50 UPF rating.
On the pant front, the Hengill Pants will help you tackle demanding hikes with their abrasion-resistant, breathable fabric that offers four-way stretch. The articulated fit keeps you moving freely, while an adjustable hem with concealed hooks lets you easily attach boot laces. Fancy a shorter alternative? The Hengill Shorts have you covered. Breathable, durable, with four-way stretch, and two zippered thigh pockets that remain accessible even while wearing a harness or backpack.

66°North are committed to creating high-quality outerwear that thrives in demanding settings, allowing people to explore and enjoy rugged landscapes while helping to protect them. Their collaboration with Chris celebrates finding a way through outdoor challenges, adapting to changing conditions to fully explore and appreciate the wonders of the natural world, and in particular, their beloved Iceland. The capsule launches online and in-store on 26 March 2025, with prices ranging from £250/2100 DKK for shorts to £590/4900 DKK for shell jackets.
