Struktur Event 2016 Ticket Giveaway

Now in its third year, Struktur Event is a creative conference that gives active outdoor designers a place to connect, jam on ideas, hone skills and foster design innovation. Unlike a trade show where products are front and center, Struktur delves into a host of aspects related to design, from material research and manufacturing, to business models and user experience.

This year the conference will involve two days of curated speakers, with a focus on exploring the challenges that designers face in their profession. Industry experts such as Nasahn Sheppard (VP of Design from REI), Karuna Scheinfeld (VP of Design from Woolrich), Carl Moriarity (Design Director of Apparel at Arc’teryx), Jeff Popp (MHM and CO.ALITION), and Aaron James Draplin (Draplin Design Co.) are just a few of the speakers who will be dishing up valuable insights. Panel discussions will deliver plenty of wisdom too, with topics including ethical and responsible design, the direct-to-consumer business model, and deciding where to manufacture product.

But speakers and panel discussions are not the only attractions to look forward to. Digging down into hands-on events, a variety of workshops will be on offer to help designers develop new skills, network, and gain experience with new design processes and materials.

We’re giving away one free ticket to Struktur 2016, which runs from 4 May to 6 May in Portland, OR. In addition to attending speaker events, you will also gain free entry to two workshops hosted by Jeff Smith and Adam Geremia, both awesome opportunities to mine nuggets of design gold. Education Program Manager, industrial designer and talented sketch artist Jeff Smith will provide great insight into utilizing Autodesk software for design. Adam Geremia (who has spent considerable time working at renowned design firm IDEO) will offer excellent guidance and information on Visual Storytelling, helping participants adopt tools and skills to successfully convey ideas and messages in their work.

Please note, that accommodation and travel expenses are not included in our competition. You need to find your way to Portland and hook up your own bunk or bed or igloo.
