As neat as this is, we can’t say we saw it coming. Porter & Saturdays (a surf shop in NYC) have banded together to create a tote. Not your basic tote either, but a fancy-pantsy New York surfers tote…

From a marketing/branding point of view, there’s no doubt that this will create a lot of awareness for Saturdays and potentially open up Porter to a whole new market. From a carry point of a view, the tote is looking really nice, with the organisational compartments in it; water proof tarp material and a real nice closure system that is apparently so well sealed it will keep out water, sand, and all sort of other gunks. But overall it doesn’t like it’s really quite up to standard for what surfers generally throw at their bags, carry equipment.

If anyone gets their hands on one, we’d love to know how it performs.
