Kickstarter Launches House Brand for Wallets
It was only a question of time before the crowd funding giant, Kickstarter, expanded from ‘facilitator’ to ‘maker’. Launching tomorrow, Kickstarter will join the masses vying for bucks and spruik their own crowd funding campaign (What? We know, right!).
The product: a veg-tanned trifold wallet.
When quizzed at a casual pre-release pow wow, by HBR this morning, Kickstarter spokesperson, Anne Loof, whilst guiding press through their new product, remarked “It seemed like a natural and logical step for us. It’s been something we’ve been considering for quite some time”. When probed, why wallets? Loof smirked and conceded “Well, we saw that everyone else was doing it.”

The new house brand will comprise of a single wallet, the KS Trifold, and is said to have been inspired by Kickstarter CEO, Yancey Strickler’s, passion for 80s surf gear, thus the three-fold profile, mesh ID pocket, and [insert cringe] velcro closure.
Will it succeed? Well, how can it not?
And what comes next? Multi-tools maybe…
