CHAMELEON CAMO

A cotton/nylon Cordura blend, the exterior fabric has the natural handfeel of cotton but the tremendous tensile and abrasion benefits of a 6.6 nylon.

Elegant on the eye, soft on the hand and rugged enough to tackle any adventure.

Woven to a jacquard, its woodland camouflage will be your chameleon. Thanks to a piece dyeing process that reacts only with the cotton, the fabric gives off subtle and soft gradations of color.

In office light, the woodland camouflage pattern softens, and almost disappears. But when carried outside and brushed by sunlight, the camouflage pattern springs to life, with personality and flair.

WEATHERPROOF

The AEL222 provides multiple levels of weather protection.

Finished with a multicoating of PU – an extremely strong water repellent – the exterior Cordura fabric, paired with a premium water-resistant top-grain leather base and chunky #8 AquaGuard zippers, will keep the rain out and your contents dry.

PREMIUM MATERIALS AND HARDWARE

From the top-grain leather to the AquaGuard zippers to the anodized aluminium hardware, the materials have been specifically chosen to last and age gracefully.

PERFORMANCE HARNESS

Don’t let the good looks fool you. Underneath the breathable 70D stretch woven fabric, the AEL222 is kitted out with a premium outdoor performance harness: a molded EVA panel hugs your back. Horizontal channels ensure airflow. And padded and ergonomic straps, paired with load lifters and a removable sternum strap, fit snugly around your shoulders for a super comfortable carrying experience.

Need extra stability and mobility? A stowable waist belt can be accessed from behind the back panel when riding a bike or carving up fresh powder.

SECURE POCKETING

The AEL222 uses two lovely folds of fabric, not only to add to its sophisticated looks, but to disguise its exterior zippers from pickpockets. Out of sight, out of mind, you know?

In addition, inside the main compartment, there’s a high internal water-resistant PU mesh pocket. Positioned high up out of the crush zone, and a hand’s reach from the main zipper, it’s perfect for smaller things of higher value that need to stay dry.

Made with a transparent PU mesh, the pocket makes the contents inside immediately visible, so you spend less time foraging for your essentials.

HIGH VIS / INTERNAL POP

To enhance visibility, the embossed PES liner with acrylic coating is high-vis pop orange. Why? Bright colors are always better than muted colors for seeing small items sitting inside. It’s science. And it’s now kinda our signature.

LOW PROFILE

Access to a water bottle is imperative for pack users on the go. And so are clean silhouettes when in urban settings. And so the AEL222 features a low-profile water bottle pocket that zips down cleanly when not in use, and expands with a stretch woven gusset to easily swallow a water bottle when you need it to.

PERFECT ACCESS

On the opposing side to the water bottle, and identical on first look, the 222 features a low-volume pocket that can be easily accessed by swinging the pack to your hip. Perfect for smaller items such as phones, keys, wallets or passports.

Inside the suspended laptop compartment, AE have added a new ‘eject’ pull-tab system, making it easier to retrieve smaller laptops (11- and 13-inch), while also accommodating larger 15-inch styles too.
