Best Travel Clothing 2019
The Best Travel Clothing lets you do more with less. Adapting to a wide variety of environments, while providing comfort, freedom of movement and easy maintenance…
Travel packing is essentially deciding what not to bring. And it can be hard when those ‘what ifs’ crop up. What if I need a more formal pant on my holiday trip? What if I get the chance for a quick hike during a work trip? So Western Rise took on the challenge of creating a pant that takes everyday, travel and outdoor environments in its stride. And they’ve succeeded in style with the Evolution Pant.
The highly versatile and functional pant looks smart in work settings or when you want to dress up for a night on the town. But it’s tough and flexible enough to hit hiking trails too. The pant is constructed with
bluesign® approved stretch nylon Supplex® fabric that’s soft and breathable yet abrasion resistant. The fabric is also stain resistant and water repellent, convenient when you’re caught in a shower or want to keep laundry to a minimum on your travels. And with its two-way stretch and flat felled reinforced stitching, you stay comfy on the move.
The Evolution Pant weighs just 13 oz and packs down small to keep luggage bulk down. And with a choice of six pockets you can stash smaller essentials on your person for easy access during your trips.
Stylish enough for work trips, yet tough and flexible enough for more active outdoor use, the Western Rise Evolution Pant is a supreme all-in-one option for effortlessly adapting to changing travel environments. Ultimately enabling you to pack less while seeing and doing more. Bravo, Western Rise!
These are the pieces that just missed out, and in most cases, by the smallest of margins. To them, we award a High Commendation. The below were of outstanding quality, displaying fine craftsmanship and design flair. With honor, we bow our heads in the utmost respect and kudos. If this were a dais, they’d be biting their teeth into silver medals – a feat not to be overlooked. And we’re sure they’ll be back, to take it one notch higher, next year.
Staying dry is important on your travels. But carrying around a bulky rain jacket isn’t ideal. So Arc’teryx designed the Zeta SL (mens and womens) Jacket as a lightweight, packable and breathable waterproof layer that’s easy to store in a day bag until needed. Created with summer hiking in mind, the jacket comes in at only 310g (10.9 oz). And it displays Arc’teryx’s signature top-tier build with GORE-TEX featuring Paclite® Plus product technology, WaterTight™ zippers and taped seams. Add in the adjustable cuffs, hem and StormHood™ with halo adjuster and you get a tailored fit with enhanced protection from the elements. A bonus? The clean style nails urban settings too, giving you a flexible piece for city and outdoor travel alike. Well done, Arc’teryx!
Shoes tend to take up a lot of travel packing space. So you really want to get the most out of them. And the incredible versatility of the Tropicfeel Canyon All-Terrain Sneaker makes it worth every inch of packing space. As the name suggests, the sneaker is designed to tackle all terrains -– and that includes land and water too. The quick-drying build is great for embracing wet environments such as kayaking or even swimming. And the lightweight, slip-resistant design also takes on hiking trails with ease. Plus with its low-key aesthetics and easy slip-on style, it looks at home in urban environments too. One shoe that can take you from city streets to wilderness trails or water adventures? All with a breathable, odor-resistant, comfortable and sustainably-made design? Now that’s impressive. Super effort, Tropicfeel!
