A clever way to keep small carry in order, a pack that takes changing environments and loads in its stride, plus a wallet that bends over backwards for you. Discover more in our Week In Review…

A twofold carry solution for the small stuff

SSCY Hemisphere Fold Pouch

It’s the little things that can be trickiest to carry – they have a habit of scampering into the deepest, darkest recesses of a bag and hunkering down. Pouches are great for coralling the critters, but even then it can be a struggle – sometimes you’ve got a lot of stuff to contain, while other times it may be just a few items. The SSCY Hemisphere Fold Pouch offers a simple solution. It opens into a large pouch when you need to carry a lot, but can also fold in half and snap together to create a small pouch with two storage compartments. Plus if you want easy access to the contents without them making a break for it, just stand the pouch upright with one side snapped shut while the other is left open. Constructed out of water-repellent duck cotton canvas or poly duck, the pouch comes in a variety of colorways to suit school, work and travel environments.

Ultralight thinking applied to urban exploration

Think ultralight bags and you tend to think of outdoor gear designed for wilderness adventures. But there’s no reason you shouldn’t enjoy lightweight bags in your day-to-day activities too – after all, you’ll carry these bags far more than you will outdoor bags. Embracing the idea of lightweight daily carry, Hyperlite Mountain Gear have created a minimalist messenger bag constructed out of 150-denier Dyneema Cuben Fiber. Tough, water-resistant and coming in at 1lb. 2oz., the messenger still packs in everyday functionality. It holds a 15-inch laptop, includes a padded bottom and back panel, and comes with a removable cross-body strap. Other handy features include an interior zipped pocket, a top carry handle, reflective binding and straps, front loops for attaching bike lights, plus a padded shoulder strap with a daisy chain and quick-adjust and release design.

Flipping form and function to your changing needs

Slim 360 Wallet

Having a wallet that gives you a bit of flexibility is great – and the Slim 360 Wallet doesn’t short-change on this front. Offering flexibility in both form and function, this 360° reversible wallet combines the benefits of a bifold and card holder. Two pockets with RFID blocking technology help keep credit cards safe, while a non-RFID blocking pocket lets you conveniently use an RFID card such as a work badge without having to remove it from the wallet. There’s also a cash strap so you can keep bills close at hand. The wallet is slim enough to slip into a pocket and its reversible design means you can alternate easily depending on which contents you want the quickest access to.
