Chris Stapleton’s connection with Filson began at a young age, when his father donned Filson gear for hunting. This association with dependable durability and practicality led to the singer, songwriter, and musician embracing Filson’s bags and clothing both for daily use and while traveling on the road. So when Chris and Filson got the opportunity to team up on a travel collection, it presented a chance to bring the past and present together. A chance to revive archived Filson pieces while also creating new ones, all while blending Chris’s travel insights and needs with Filson’s enduring craftsmanship and quality. The Filson x Chris Stapleton Traveller Collection is named after Chris’s acclaimed 2015 debut solo album and includes five pieces that fuse heritage style with modern-day functionality and creative flair.

The Traveller Outfitter Bag | $995

A revival from Filson’s archives, the Traveller Outfitter Bag is a burly Rugged Twill bag featuring separate top and bottom compartments for convenient organization. The original outfitter is a favourite of Filson purists and for good reason with its robust materials, useful organisation, and adaptable carry. The new Outfitter bag has been updated with harness leather straps, handles, and reinforcements. This is a more rugged version of the bridle leather that you’ll find on Filson’s 24 hour bags. At 35L, the Outfitter has now also shrunk a little compared to the original 238, which makes it more airline friendly! The exclusive yellow zippers selected by Chris add a touch of vibrant flair to this hard-wearing, travel-ready piece. You’ll also find a subtle embossed “CS” on the pull tabs of this bag. This is the show stopper of the collection, an old classic reimagined!

The Traveller Stowaway Backpack | $195

To compliment the rerelease of archival favourites, the Traveller Stowaway Backpack is an original design from Chris. Inspired by his life on tour and created to be a handy go-to hauler that can adapt to a range of carry needs and settings. While packable, that doesn’t mean it departs from Filson’s heritage or robust and carefully chosen materials! It’s crafted with durable Ranger dry-waxed ripstop cotton from British Millerain and includes a drawstring-cinch top with a leather closure. This ripstop cotton is lightly waxed for added weather resistance and there are two elasticated side pockets for essentials. This bag also has a sneaky trip up its sleever, with the rugged twill base transforming into a packable pocket for the whole backpack! This can easily live in one of the larger bags of this collection and be ready for deployment when needed.

The Traveller Dopp Kit | $175

As with any good travel set up, you need a home for the smaller things, whether that be your toiletries or EDC. The Traveller Dopp Kit offers a handsome color twist on Filson’s well lovedRugged Twill Travel Kit, offering the durable Dopp kit in an exclusive ‘Cinder’ colorway with a collaboration hangtag and Chris’s initials debossed on the zipper tab. This is one of those items that gets better with use, and will serve for a lifetime.

The Traveller Medium Duffle Bag | $595

If the Outfitter bag is too complicated for your needs, then the Traveller Medium Duffle Bag will carry your gear in trusty style. At 43L, this heirloom worthy bag can take it all whether you’re hauling day-to-day gear or getting ready for adventures further afield. Made with durable Rugged Twill material and upgraded with hardy harness leather, the timeless design is one of Filson’s most enduring pieces. The brass YKK zippers will get smoother with each adventure and remain rust free wherever you roam, while a rugged twill flap provides an extra layer of protection for the main opening. Like others in the collection, the medium duffle gets a special touch with colorways chosen by Chris and his signature debossed onto the leather pull tabs.

The Traveller Suit Cover | $225

Looking to bring your favourite Mackinaw Cruiser on the road? Or need to keep that suit wedding ready? Look to the Traveller Suit Cover, which is crafted with the same Ranger dry-waxed ripstop cotton from British Millerain as the Stowaway Backpack. This is another original design from Chris that protects clothing from the elements and dirt, while also folding into its own zippered pocket when not in use. Tough and functional, the suit cover features Chris’s initials on the zipper pulls and is rounded off with custom collaboration tags.
