A Breath of Fresh Air in Load Carry :: Ventra Mainframe
In the bag world backpacks are top of the winners’ podium for carry comfort. But they’re not infallible. Throw heavy loads, hot weather or strenuous activities into the mix, and that comfort level is going to take a hit. Sure, you can utilize the likes of integrated ventilated frame packs, but that restricts your bag options. Not ideal if you use a variety of packs to satisfy different carry needs.
The Mainframe from Ventra Gear doesn’t restrict your pack choice. Instead, the patent pending design works with any pack or carried load that has at least one shoulder strap.
Available in Small, Medium and Large options to accommodate different torso lengths, the Mainframe can boost the support, comfort and ventilation of packs, as well as add these features to gear where they are not normally present. Ultralight bags, photography packs, dry bags, hiking packs, musical instruments, bouldering mats, cycling packs and more can all partner with the frame.
There are no size restrictions for backpacks and carried loads that can be used with the Mainframe, though there is a maximum weight restriction of 60 lbs (27 kg). Constructed out of aircraft aluminum, nylon and polyester, the frame is tough but light in weight, ranging from 10.4 oz (296 g) to 12.7 oz (361 g) depending on your chosen frame size.
Since the frame is removable, you can decide when and where to use it, providing flexibility to tweak your pack’s functionality as desired. For instance, use it during a work commute by bike for its support and ventilation but remove it at the office for a more work-friendly aesthetic. Alternatively leave it at home for a relaxed day at the park or beach, but bring it along for the hike when you’re hitting the trails.
