A better place for your metro card?

OK, it needs to be said that the above product is ugly and inelegant, however it is thought provoking. Is a wallet the wrong place for a public transport card…?

When commuting by public transport, most of us play on our phones. Whether tweeting, gaming, or clearing our Instapaper, a phone fills those short moments of inaction better than most other media. So why do we keep tickets and passes in our wallets? Maybe flat against the back of our phone actually makes great sense?

Has anyone seen a nice way to do this? Something slim line and styling? Perhaps even a Sugru hack? We might just be slow to the party, but this split feels like a better way to carry.
