EDITORS PICK
This pack took home our Best Work Backpack award two years back, and for good reason – it's crazy versatile and customizable. The Field Pack is part of a modular backpack approach utilising Mission Workshop’s proprietary Arkiv attachment system. In simpler words, you can bolt on all sorts of sleeves and pockets to a few versions of these packs. The Arkiv system is along the lines of the military MOLLE system, only more urban in vibe. Formed metal brackets slide down over webbing rails, with a velcro closure keeping them locked in. But all you have to know is it's awesome and suits the office, the outdoors and play. And all-rounder if we've ever seen one.
the good
- Modular system allows for flexible arrangements
- Looks that fit lots of different environments
- Some great performance fabric options
- High brand credibility
the not so good
- R8 is probably two rails too many (R6 better value)
- Laptop module can swing about a bit
- A touch heavy and awkward if moduled up
- Price can climb quickly with added modules
