Alchemy Equipment AEL008 Carry On

Alchemy is a new Kiwi brand born from years of outdoor brand experience. Creating subtle performance pieces that can skip between work and play, the brand has impressed us with several of their carry pieces, but it’s their Carry On that beat the competition in this year’s awards.

Alchemy Equipment Carry On

With its 45 litre capacity, multiple sections and carry options, and really well balanced silhouette, the Alchemy Equipment Carry On is both handsome and versatile. The sandwich construction makes it easy to organise your travel gear. The shoulder strap disappears into a slim pocket, and doesn’t try to span across the openings, so it doesn’t get in the way when accessing contents. The YKK water-resistant zippers help keep rain out, but it will still look sharp in a work setting. And the fabrics and fabrication feel stylish but totally practical.

This is an accomplished bit of carry kit that will keep you stoked no matter how much you mix work and play together. Well done, Alchemy, we’re stoked to see what the future holds.

Highly Commended

These are the pieces that just missed out, and in most cases, by the smallest of margins. To them, we award a High Commendation. The below were of outstanding quality, displaying fine craftsmanship and design flair. With honour, we bow our heads in the upmost respect and kudos. If this were a dias, they’d be biting their teeth into silver medals, while their flags were hoisted into the horizon – a feat not to be overlooked. And I’m sure they’ll be back, to take it one notch higher, next year.

Rimowa Bolero

Rimowa Bolero

If your luggage tastes lean towards the luxurious, this is a refined travel companion that is well worth investing in. Rugged in construction, sleek in style and incorporating a convenient front pocket for quick-access items, the Rimowa Bolero looks right at home on business trips. However, it can just as easily relax by your side in the airport lounge as you read up on your next vacation locale. Crafted from polycarbonate, the Bolero is available in spinner and trolley formats and also features an integrated TSA lock to up the ante on the security tip.

Modern Industry Passenger

Modern Industry Passenger

With its solid construction combining #10 Martexin Original Waxed Canvas and Raptor buckles, this rolltop duffel is ready to hit the road, board a plane, sail into the sunset or go wherever else life’s travels may take you. Carry options include grab handles and a detachable shoulder strap, while the bag also features waterproof zippers and two quick-access pockets for items needed on the go. This is definitely a passenger you’ll look forward to sharing many journeys with. And when you can zero in on all of the top-notch hardware and materials – this screams RAD VALUE. Fine work, Modern Industry!
