Carryology Morale Patch Program | P11, P12, P13 Signal Collection

It’s been just a bit over 6 months since we’ve launched our last batch of Morale Patches. And a whole lot has happened since then, including; the end of 2021, the Carry Awards, an epic adventure over to Iceland. Our last release included 2 different patches, rounding out the Firefly Collection with P09 and P10, respectively. And now… we’ve got 3 new patches to kick off a brand new family of Carryology Morale Patches.

We’re calling this new collection; the Signal Collection.

While we do have plenty of mockups created and a solid plan to expand upon this collection, there are no guarantees on how many will fill this specific family before it ends. Maybe only these 3 before we try out something else? Maybe it will go to a nice even 10 units again? Who knows. Regardless… you’ve been asking us for more patches and here they are!

Signalling The Message

To kick off this new family of patches, we wanted to go classic. Sure, we have some other non-logo designs in the works. Some are actually pretty wild! But these designs in the Signal Collection should be iconic and impactful. Just like the bright, bold, and colorful inspiration behind the collection’s name… which is both a noun and a verb. To signal or signaling is the act of conveying information and the signal can also be the actual physical object used to convey information.

Two great examples below. First, the flag semaphore system which uses brightly colored flags to communicate messages (the original concept was developed by the Ancient Greeks, with flaming towers placed many miles apart from one another). Side note, whenever I see flag semaphores being used, it always reminds me of Wes Anderson’s movies for some reason. Anyway., The second example, is the art of using Morse Code via light bursts from a signal lamp for naval signalling (pioneered by the Royal Navy in the 19th century).

We like history. We like storytelling. This has both!
And so it would be; the Signal Collection.

We had to have some fun with Lucky Number 13 in the collection of Carryology Morale Patches. Personally, I’ve always wanted a murdered-out all-black Carryology patch. In the past, I’ve even “custom made” my own blacked out Carryology patches using black paint pens. No more of that. It’s official, black on black is here.
