New collaboration stretches its wings
What do you get when you cross an American fashion brand with a coveted Japanese carry brand? A Jaybird. No, this is not a new endeavor into the world of portable pets but rather a backpack stemming from a collaboration between Porter and rag & bone. This Cordura nylon pack features leather accents, side pockets and an inner zip pocket, as well as adjustable shoulder and waist straps. If you’re keen to get your hands on one you can do so here.
Stealth meets style
Taking a softer approach to the backpack theme, the Undercover J6807 backpack offers style and a combination of textures. Constructed out of wool, leather and nylon, the pack has four front pockets and key rings on the straps. However, if you have your heart set on one of these you might want to sit back and decide whether it’s the love of your life or eye candy you can do without because it will set you back around US$722.
Smart and streamlined
The Minimalist offers an interesting take on thin wallets, with the ability to carry cash and cards whilst maintaining a slim profile. So what’s interesting about it? Bills are carried on the outside of the wallet courtesy of a leather strap that holds them in place. This is a Kickstarter project that will be successfully funded so if you fancy your own then pledge $45 here.
Taking a look into the future
Keen to see what people could be carrying around in the future? Of course you are. Check out this list of 10 futuristic pieces of luggage that includes the likes of fingerprint scanning features and a suitcase that can function as a chair, sound system and tech gadget charger. Some of the designs are conceptual whilst other pieces can be purchased now. Most of them aren’t cheap but they’re definitely fun.
Nike SB gets into the holiday spirit
Is it too early to start thinking about holiday gifts? Nike SB doesn’t seem to think so and have five new backpack styles to choose from: here, here, here, here and here. If you like the look of the packs you don’t have to wait until December as the Nike SB Holiday 2012 backpacks are available now.
