We’ve just clicked over 500 posts on Carryology, and we’re kinda proud of how far we’ve come. But rather than bore you guys with a credit role or acknowledgements, we thought we should share some of the highlights in case you’ve missed them along the way.

First up – we’re loving how rad the comments can get, with them often adding lots of insight to the post. Reviews of tactical packs always pull lots, and often from mega-informed readers who have lived in these bags through crazy times. Rush, TAD, Goruck… any pack you dodge bullets with get the passion stirring. But we also really love when the brands themselves get involved, with loads of brand founders, designers and influencers getting amongst the comments. One of our favorite so far is probably the Bedouin Barbary review, where a whole sub-industry got into the discussion.

Favorite sub-communities? Well, there’s definitely the tactical and EDC readers, who give us the most analytical and critical inputs, where every single detail wants to find optimization and perfection. Or there’s the cyclists, many of whom bulldoze through any issue by breaking it then hacking it back together. Or the photographers who add visual candy to our posts, or the business travelers who refine their systems of carry like no others. Ahhh, we love you all…

Most helpful post? How about just choosing between a backpack or a messenger for your daily carry?

Favorite images? We can’t go past the Vintage Auto Carry post.
Favorite niggles? Yeah, it’s a close tie between airmesh, rigid backs, and ‘the great silence’, which are all those carry goods we refuse to even mention on Carryology due to terrible design or quality.

Favorite carry item? Not this.

Favorite black belt carry technique? Oooh, furoshiki came close, but we have to give it to hoody ninjadom.

Favorite category? Probably Carry Conversations, where we get all intimate with incredible crew. Lots more of those to come.

Cheers to 500 posts!
I’d love to see a bit more of the minimal carry or practical carry for women. I love so much of the carry gear featured here – but often think that my carry wardrobe is starting to get a bit on the masculine side. Doesn’t have to be floral and frilly, but some kick-ass bright coloured gear would be nice to see!

Our main female contributor has taken leave to have child number 2. But that shouldn’t stop us. We’ll try to recruit some new female carry geeks, and top up the female content!
I’m definitely partly to blame for some discussions becoming a little ‘passionate’ in the comments sections. ;]

Carryology is great, period.
I’d love to see more comparison reviews in the future of similar products, so that pros and cons can be better weighed against each other in a purchase decision.
Also, where’s the forums?
We have a couple more Head to Heads lined up, which we’re be excited to share. We’ll also start recruiting more carry gear to keep expanding that category.
And yeah, forums continue to get discussed. More on that in a month or two…
It has become a site a visit daily, the features are great and the discussions can become quite informative and intense yet remaining respectful. I think all the readers appreciate everyone’s tone.
I agree with rfb, a discussion forum would be cool and I believe someone suggested a ‘for sale/exchange’ board within the discussion forum would be good.
If I may once again add a suggestion to the editors about their prospective stories, a fabulous feature on the ultimate of individual mobile carry, the bike pannier would be appreciated. Spring will come soon enough in my part of the globe and this year I really need to make an informative choice to replace my beaten battered bags.

Also agree on the idea, though I’m not sure if a Forum is really…the best plattform for it.
We are maybe a lot of “steady” members, but a Forum might just not be worth the effort. A Facebook Group is good in that way.
Yep, our http://www.facebook.com/carryology and these comment areas are our ‘make-do’ forums for now. The good part about that is that it keeps the discussions more approachable for folk who find forums intimidating.
However we hear you guys, we continue to discuss it, and we’ll try and work something out in the near future.

Carryology is a daily read for me too and i also would be stoked on forums or similar
I would like to see more reviews of course but also from different types of carry not just bags, backpacks. Like the EDC type you just started is interesting, maybe some travel wallets, dopp kits, carry related accessories etc.

Totally agree. We need to work harder on the non-bag carry areas. We all love them, so should share more of them.
And one more thing maybe some kind of shopping guide would be sweet. List some cities and good carry shops to visit but also online shops that retail bags. This would be especially helpful for people outside of the States i think, because sometimes its hard to find retailers from Europe that have that hottest highly sought after bags in stock.

We agree, and often share tips amongst ourselves on carry retailers to visit in San Fran, Tokyo, New York, London, and other great carry hubs of the world.
We’ve made a start a couple of times, but it can feel like a daunting task to do it justice. Perhaps we’ll make a start, and then get our awesome readers to suggest additions.
