Falling madly in love with this distinctive brand

Who are they: The Madly is the bagchild of Jake Quellman and Melanie Dizon. They have only recently launched, but already they are blowing us away with some incredible shapes and carry forms that both mess with tradition, and totally get inspired by it.

Why we like them: We came across The Madly trawling Behance (as we sometimes do), and fell instantly for their original approaches to bag forms. From their almost poetic roll-top, to the over-under handles and on-trend totes and weekenders, their bags appear superlatively crafted and well considered.

Who else might like it: All of Japan, the Sartorialist (and most of New York), and urban carry fans looking for an original take on bag formats (without being too worried about ‘performance’). If you like luxury brands, you should quit them for something much better like these.

Where they are: While based in New York, it seems like they try and spend most of their time roaming the world for inspiration and creative content.

Have to love a brand that appreciates good carrying

Ando will write reviews that run for pages, he’ll never think a carry piece is fully resolved, and he’ll always call it out if it should be. Oh, and he’s a co-founder of Carryology.

I am digging the Kilgore. Cool take on a messenger. Love the strap on it as well. Reminds me of a guitar strap.
