Our favorite Women’s wallets

It’s funny that wallets have ended up like formal wear – while there is comparatively little difference amongst men’s, women have a huge range and variety.
We have selected some of our favourite women’s wallets. These include both pocket sized and handbag sized, with each having at least a little something special…
We don’t rate bling, and we don’t rate ‘exclusivity’. If you are after those, just flip over to a Sex And The City episode and buy what they are flashing around. However if you are after a really functional yet kinda beautiful wallet, then hopefully we can serve.

can you make the small vs portfolio picture a larger resolution?

Sorry Hayter,
some times we are crap.
I’ve updated the image, and I hope that is now high enough res (I don’t want it too heavy to download for our dial up friends)…
Let us know if not.
thx ando, much better
I heart Mulberry,
gorgeous leather and array of sizes and interiors, smooth metal zippers that don’t catch and beautifully finished credit card slots that dont lift and distort with time. Love the grainy leathers they use, looks like it would age well. Would like to see them do some wallets in viridian.
Ummm, wow, some of those are amazing.
I think we might have to update this again soon to include one.
For anyone that has not seen Mulberry lately, go and have a drool around http://www.mulberry.com/ They do guys and girls, and understand leathers better than most.
Thanks Karen, awesome heads-up.
I love all these wallet
, but my favorite is the Paul Smith. The color is just funky enough.
We think there are way too many girl’s wallets that use big buckles and bling to get attention. It’s nice to see the Paul Smith wallet achieve interest without unnecessary bulk.
This will sound excessive, but my favorite is by Louis Vuitton — http://www.louisvuitton.com/web/flash/index.jsp;jsessionid=EHQ2PBCANVI0ECRBXUCFAFIKEG4RAUPU?direct1=ebou&langue=en_US&buy=1&
I’ve been using this wallet for years, and love it because it doesn’t have any of the usual bling — no extra claps, buckles, or zippers, and is the perfect size to fit everything (very slim even when full). It also holds up very well. It’s not the cheapest, but after getting it I never spent a dime on another wallet. I only use a card case when I want to travel extra light.
Every now and then, those luxury brands do actually get something right (rather than just relying on bling and marketing to sell)… but then the disappointing thing is that they all seem to use Flash, so I’m having trouble tracking that link
Any chance you have another link you could share with us? You have our curiosity piqued (love that word).
In hope,
Ando
My it’s hard to link to specific pages on that site, thanks to the flash! But via the above link, it’s the Sarah wallet, under women’s wallets. It was called something else when I purchased it, but seems to be the exact same design.
I totally agree that bling and marketing do not make a good product–I always prefer the simply designed luxury goods that have been around for ages, withstanding the test of time!
Thanks for getting back to us. It certainly does look like a nice and clean wallet design. And you can see why Apple and most of the good developers out there hate Flash!

Any idea where to buy Needles women wallet? I can’t find it when I search.
If you do your searches for ‘Needles Sportswear’ you should have more luck.
http://www.nepenthes.co.jp/ and their New York store http://nepenthesny.com/ have traditionally been one of the better sources for Needles.
Hope that helps!
